Liniar has introduced new colour options for its premium aluminium system, Alumina. We talk to Daryl Fradley, design and fabrication director at Liniar, who explains more.
Colour flexibility remains an important consideration for homeowners and installers, making monitoring market trends and adapting offerings accordingly crucial to meeting consumer demand.
As Daryl Fradley, design and fabrication director at Liniar, explains:
“We’re seeing strong growth in demand for grey and black finishes across both our PVC-U and aluminium ranges.
“Recent market research shows that grey and black are widely associated with modernisation and a more contemporary aesthetic,” he adds.
Responding to these evolving preferences, Liniar has added agate grey foil as a stocked finish and introduced a sleek new black external/white internal RAL-painted option to its premium aluminium system, Alumina.
Daryl continues:
“Our colour range includes over 10 greys, and by offering agate grey as a stocked item, we’ve reduced lead times on one of the most popular shades. By closely monitoring market trends, we ensure Liniar customers have the options they need at exactly the right time to meet the changing expectations of their own customers.”
In-house foiling
The Alumina range comprises bi-fold, residential, and French doors, and according to Daryl, is the UK’s only sculptured flush aluminium system that’s perfectly colour matched to an industry-leading full PVC-U suite.
“Alumina is ideal for larger openings due to its strength and can handle sashes up to 1.2m wide by 2.5m high, with door sets up to 8.5m wide available for supply in flat pack format,” Daryl explains.
“Many customers are looking to open up entire walls with either bi-folding or French doors and need a solution that fully complements the project’s other windows, doors and roofline regardless of their material.
“Because Liniar foils the aluminium profile used for Alumina at the same state-of-the-art lamination facility as our complete range of PVC-U windows, doors and roofs you get a perfect colour-match,” he continues.
“There are many woodgrain options available, so Alumina can complement traditional timber too. And Alumina doors offer a sleek, flush finish, a perfect complement to Liniar’s PVC-U flush sash window ranges, including our hugely popular Resurgence. When combined, a similar look to traditional timber can be achieved, but with all the low-maintenance and thermal benefits of the Liniar range.
“Besides the colour-matched options, all the detail on Alumina is exactly the same as Liniar’s PVC-U sculptured windows and door system too, so a building fully fitted with Liniar windows could have matching large-scale aluminium doors.”
Regulatory compliance
Part F Building Regulations make the provision of adequate ventilation mandatory, and in many cases, force the use of unsightly trickle vents on windows and doors.
“With the Alumina system, externally concealed ventilation can be accomplished using an innovative 40mm add-on,” says Daryl. “This makes compliance with Building Regulations easily achievable, without spoiling the doors’ sleek appearance with trickle vents visible from the outside.
“Alumina also offers enhanced security and is tested to PAS24 standards and is Secured by Design approved. What’s more, the Alumina bi-fold has been tested to more than twice the industry requirements for both air and water tightness – even with a low threshold.”
Daryl concludes: “Liniar has developed an extremely attractive, versatile aluminium system that is well suited to both residential and commercial projects. We continue to enhance the range, ensuring fabricators and installers can adapt to evolving market trends.”
