Hörmann Doors for life

By Wolfgang Gorner, managing director, Hörmann UK.

Hörmann UK continues to strengthen its presence in the residential entrance door market by offering a comprehensive, market-leading product range.

With solutions to meet all sectors – from competitively priced composite doors to high-performance steel and premium aluminium solutions, we are the go-to supplier for dealers and installers seeking a trusted one-stop shop backed by German engineering and a recognised brand.

Following the acquisition of IG Doors in 2013, and a major investment in a cutting-edge 200,000ft2 manufacturing facility in South Wales, Hörmann is now well positioned to become a major force in the UK composite door market.

With a production capacity of up to 3,500 doors per week, we manufacture our own GRP door slabs and source key components through short, local supply chains – all part of the Group’s sustainability ethos to minimise environmental impact while maintaining consistency and quality.

The Hörmann Truedor composite door range demonstrates our continued commitment to innovation and attention to detail. Key features include four-edge edge banding, advanced weather-tight glazing cassettes, and a state-of-the-art paint line capable of matching any RAL colour.

Specialised products such as the Clima63 thermally efficient door, the Draig 30-minute fire door, and the cost-effective Platinum44 steel door set within a PVC frame ensure installers have an exciting range of products to accommodate most domestic requirements.

Homeowners are offered an extensive choice of designs, glazing options, hardware, and accessories. With 20 standard colours, 10 foil finishes, and limitless customisation through bespoke colour matching, customers can choose a door to complement or enhance their property’s appearance.

We have also launched a completely new and updated website to support the Hörmann Truedor range, featuring colourful images and graphics to help the end-consumer explore the wide variety of door designs and styles.

The site also includes an easy-to-use door configurator that guides users’ step by step to create their ideal door.

For premium projects or those seeking advanced performance, our Thermo65 steel and ThermoCarbon aluminium doors open up a world of superior durability, security, and thermal insulation. Steel and aluminium’s natural strength and resistance to distortion ensure long-term reliability, while the aluminium frames provide robust anchor points for advanced locking and hinge systems.

With thermally efficient doors continuing to see strong demand in the market, the Thermo65 steel door achieves a U-value as low as 0.87 W/m²K, while the ThermoCarbon aluminium range sets an impressive benchmark with a U-value of just 0.47 W/m²K being achievable.

Visually, steel and aluminium entrance doors suit a variety of architectural styles, from ultra-modern to timelessly classic. For added impact, an XXL version is available, enabling door heights up to 3,000mm, whilst the option of double-leaf doors provides greater clear passage width and an elegant entrance to any home. An expansive palette of colours and finishes, along with a wide range of glazing and hardware choices, allows for complete personalisation.

Automation across the complete entrance door portfolio provides convenient, barrier-free access, with options including radio transmitters, biometric fingerprint scanners, Hörmann BiSecur hand-held remote key fobs, and the BlueSecur Bluetooth app enabling control directly from a smartphone.

All Hörmann entrance doors are also supplied to the UK market Carbon Neutral, aligning with growing consumer demand for environmentally responsible and sustainable products.
