Cornwall-based hardware manufacturer Coastal Group has had one of its busiest years yet for new product development, with a run of launches across its Blu and Duratique ranges landing in quick succession through 2026.
The most recent addition is the Regent lever handle, now available on a bevelled round rose, complete with a matching escutcheon.
Regent forms part of Coastal’s classic entrance door hardware, which lets specifiers and installers coordinate door and window furniture within a single range, and is designed to offer a seamless coordinated look.
The bevelled round backplate gives Regent a softer, more traditional look, and the matching escutcheon means keyholes can be finished to the same standard without compromise.
Alongside Regent, Coastal has extended its Duratique range, finished in the brand’s signature antique black stainless steel, with the new Solitaire handle.
Duratique was developed to give fabricators and homeowners a genuine alternative to antique black finishes in traditional iron that easily rust, run or chip. The Solitaire, made from premium stainless steel, adds a more understated, single-piece design to a range that was previously built around bolder, more sculptural shapes.
For the aluminium door market specifically, Coastal has introduced Kantel, a slimline handle designed to sit comfortably on the narrower stiles typical of aluminium doors.
Aluminium systems have historically forced installers to compromise on handle choice, either fitting hardware designed for timber or PVC-U doors and accepting an awkward fit, or sourcing from specialist suppliers with limited finish options. Kantel has been engineered specifically for this market, giving fabricators a slimline option without the compromise.
Coastal has also launched a new range of pull handles in satin brass, and a slimmer profile letterplate, both aimed at giving specifiers more choice at the finishing stages of a project.
According to Loren Jenner, managing director at Coastal Group, the pace of launches this year reflects a deliberate strategy.
“We’ve made a conscious decision to keep bringing new products to market steadily, constantly monitoring trends and listening to customers,” he says. “It means our trade customers always have something new to look at, and it keeps our design and engineering team focused on solving real problems for fabricators and installers, not just adding to the catalogue for the sake of it.”
Michelle Garrett, who leads the design and engineering team at Coastal, said the aluminium market in particular had been a clear gap the team wanted to close.
“Kantel came directly out of conversations with installers who were frustrated at having to force standard hardware onto aluminium doors,” explains Michelle. “Once we understood the stile widths and fixing points they were working with, the brief became obvious. It’s a good example of how we like to work – start with the problem, then design a solution from there.”
With Regent, Solitaire, Kantel, the satin brass pull handles and the slimmer letterplate all now available, Coastal Group’s product development team shows no sign of slowing down.
Further additions to the popular Blu range and the wider door and window hardware portfolio are understood to be in development, with more launches expected before the year is out.
Coastal Group’s full range is available to view at its trade showroom at 273 Abbeydale Road, Wembley, London, and online.
