A perfect partnership for Tradeglaze and Wilcox Homes

Tradeglaze began trading in 1995 as a team of three installers but grew quickly and within a couple of years the company had opened its own manufacturing factory.

By the mid-2000s, Tradeglaze outgrew its premises and in 2009 the company opened a new 12,000ft2 factory at its current location on Bishops Road in Lincoln. Today, Tradeglaze employs over 90 staff including its own remedial engineer team.

Last year Tradeglaze accelerated its expansion plans to support rapidly increasing demand. The company hired six new employees and expanded its offices. This was followed by a new welding machine for its PVC-U factory and a new glass cutting table for its glass manufacturing division, Allenby Glass.

It has been a strong year for Tradeglaze, the fabricator winnin ‘Product Supplier of the Year’ at the annual Greater Lincolnshire Construction and Property Awards.

Homestead Fields

Wilcox Homes and Tradeglaze have been working together for more than a decade and in 2021, Wilcox Homes contacted Tradeglaze to discuss Homestead Fields, a prestigious development of 329 homes in the sought-after village of Metheringham, eight miles south of the cathedral City of Lincoln.

Ollie Wilcox, director at Wilcox Homes, said: “Our aim is to delight every new owner with the high standards of our homes. Tradeglaze is a great local manufacturer and we put a lot of trust in the company’s skills, knowledge and craftmanship. We like to work with local tradespeople who understand their trade well and take pride in what they do.

“The Liniar window system is by far the most superior from what we have seen. Our customers are always delighted by the energy efficiency and by the great acoustic qualities of their new windows,” Ollie added.

Liniar’s group sales director, Nigel Bishop, commented: “Tradeglaze consistently delivers fantastic products to both the trade and retail markets. Homestead Fields is a great example of how Tradeglaze and Wilcox Homes have collaborated to produce homes that are not only energy efficient but look great.”

Brian Pearson, senior accounts manager at Tradeglaze, said: “We have been supplying quality windows and doors to Wilcox Homes projects for many years, for new build as well as commercial projects. 13 years ago, we switched to the revolutionary Liniar profile and have never looked back. It’s a profile like no other, designed completely from scratch in 2007 for the ultimate performance in thermal efficiency, acoustic qualities and security.”

A supplier we can rely on

Brian added: “The last two years have been full of challenges, with everything from price increases and surcharges to supply chain issues and labour shortages. We have had many honest, productive conversations with the team at Liniar over the months.

“They are brilliant at communicating and have excelled as a supplier throughout these turbulent times. The working relationship between our two companies has never been stronger.”

Tradeglaze supplied a range of windows for the Homestead Fields homes, including casement, bow and bay windows, mock sliding sashes and as tilt and turn, all manufactured from Liniar profile in a combination of agate grey and cream foil finishes.

“The finished houses are stunning. The Wilcox family are really pleased with how the windows have turned out and we look forward to supplying quality windows to their prestigious homes for years to come,” stated Brian.

“The last two years have been a rollercoaster for our industry but we feel the most confident we have ever been about the future. Throughout the pandemic we have built resilient teams, better processes and stronger relationships. Now we have been crowned the 2022 Product Supplier of the Year for Greater Lincolnshire, we feel we can work hard and overcome just about any challenge thrown our way” he concluded.
