Guy Hubble, joint managing director at RegaLead, talks about the ever-growing range of colour options from systems houses and how RegaLead is the fabricator’s best friend when it comes to colour.

As an industry, we’ve come a very long way with colour. From the Rosewood and Irish Oak dominated 1980s and 90s through the anthracite grey boom of the 2010s to today’s impressive plethora of colour foil options.

Systems houses are constantly adding more and more colour options – it’s like an arms race to dominate the world of premium PVC-U.

As colour specialists, this makes life exciting for us. As every new colour is launched to the market, RegaLead acts as the second echelon, delivering complementary products that help fabricators exploit new colour trends across their ranges.

That means being primed for action with colour-matched products and coating formulas so that there are no barriers to them embracing and promoting each new colour to make them and their installer customers stand out from the crowd.

Foil colour matching
The latest system to launch new colours into the market is Deceuninck, who recently added Beige Grey, Shine Beige, Shine Dark Graphite, Green Grey and Turner Malt Oak to their range. We worked with them closely in the run-up to their launch to ensure that our colour-matched options were available to fabricators from day dot.

This is all driven by our dedicated in-house colour lab, where we have specialist equipment, including a DataColour Spectro-Photometer, gloss meters, a spray booth, daylight viewing cabinets and drying ovens to ensure absolute colour matching for every shade. Only once the colour formulas have passed stringent testing are they released to be used for our ColorSpray range.

It’s our investment in people and technology for in-house colour technology that enables us to quickly develop formulas to match new colours hitting the market. As soon as new profile colours are available, so are our colour-matched products and coatings.

The colour advantage
To ensure fabricators can capitalise on every new shade immediately, RegaLead provides a comprehensive, colour-matched product portfolio, starting with our Engineered Door Components Range.

This collection offers panel solutions in flat, tongue & groove and raised & fielded designs and a complementary range of plant-on decorative bolection mouldings. These components are available in more than 70 standard and 100 special foiled colour finishes, including new Deceuninck shades: Beige Grey, Shine Beige, Shine Dark Graphite and Green Grey.

Beyond components, we ensure complete colour coverage for every stage of fabrication and installation. For those fabricators who spray in-house, there is a colour-matched option for every Renolit and Continental foil colour supplied by PVC-U systems in our ColorSpray range of coatings for GRP and PVC-U.

This includes the new Deceuninck options. For smaller component spraying, like trims and accessories, and for onsite touch-ups and repairs, fabricators and installers can benefit from our range of ColorSpray aerosol cans, all available in the same extensive colour range.

As the race for colour continues, fabricators and installers will always need complementary products in those same colours to help them make the most of these opportunities. We are making it our ongoing mission to be the fabricator’s friend when it comes to colour, and we will continue our work in the lab to deliver the right colourways the moment new shades are released to the market.
