DoorCo’s ‘One’ complete product portfolio offers not one, but two solid core composite door options with GripCore and BritDor – but which one should you include in your product portfolio? The answer is both, says commercial director, Ben Aspinall.

DoorCo’s ‘One’ complete product portfolio is designed to offer all the composite door components our customers need.

With four types of doors, the Flip door glazing cassette system and a range of glazing and paint options, you can create any door design on the market, without dual sourcing from multiple suppliers.

Original and FireCore are both foam-filled and have specific purposes, but we also offer two types of solid core front doors.

BritDor for all

BritDor is the accessible choice, with security and durability as standard. The key highlights include:

  • ‘Made in Britain’ means complete control over quality, stock and supply.
  • A solid timber core which offers dependable stability and endurance.
  • Available in 44mm and 48mm thickness so it fits any frame on the market.
  • Finished with CoolSkin Technology – a thermoplastic outer layer with heat-reflective properties and a woodgrain finish to mimic the signature DoorCo GRP skins used on the other DoorCo doors.
  • The 17 colours and stains on the BritDor skins are designed to seamlessly match U-PVC window profiles.
  • A variety of designs, including unique traditional panelled styles like Glenman and contemporary options like the Enzo.
  • A wide range of glazing options, which combined with the colour and design offering means BritDor doors can be tailored to fit any aesthetic and taste.
  • Commercial sense. The simplicity of the BritDor offering doesn’t compromise on style but means we can deliver in bulk at a more affordable price point, making it perfect for the social housing and new build markets.

These features make BritDor doors a reliable and stylish choice.

GripCore upgrade

GripCore is a new generation of composite doors and the UK’s first hybrid timber-foam core door. The unique composition and design portfolio makes GripCore simply, the superior choice. Upgrading to the latest GripCore doors can offer several benefits:

  1. Increased strength and rigidity: The GripCore technology combination of PIR foam, HDF plywood, and aluminium sheets, finished with GRP skins, makes GripCore doors incredibly strong. It boasts 3mm maximum thermal movement, no cracking or de-lamination and is completed with our highly durable GRP skins.
  2. Enhanced thermal efficiency: The hybrid timber-foam-aluminium core provides excellent insulation, helping to keep your home warmer in the winter and cooler in the summer. It’s also future-proofed against minimum U-value building regulation requirements, thanks to the U-value it delivers. The strengthening wooden boxes in GripCore are filled with PIR foam that provides excellent thermal capabilities, far exceeding the commonly used XPS foam.
  3. Safety & security is in the DNA of GripCore technology, creating a formidable barrier that will protect the home against the elements, deter intruders and look beautiful for years to come.
  4. Moisture protection: The new core design offers superior protection against moisture infiltration, which can prevent issues like warping.
  5. Improved aesthetics/ customisation: GripCore’s extensive collection of decorative glass designs provide a luxury finish that makes it stand out from the crowd. There are minimal standard distribution colours with GripCore, pinpointed to represent the designer character: anthracite/ white; black/white, white/white.
The bespoke colour choices are endless as we use RAL colour codes to colour match the perfect shade for your customer’s home. We also offer the exclusive ‘Patina’ shades on the GripCore Monza II doors for a completely high-end, luxurious finish – the ultimate designer door.
  1. A door for any home: GripCore is available in the Designer Monza II and Links finishes, the contemporary Flush, traditional panelled doors, the versatile farmhouse and charming stable doors.
  2. Available with AR: With the integration of AR technology, you can help your customer visualise and choose the perfect door design for their home.
  3. Which one to choose?
Ultimately, the choice depends on the specific needs and preferences of your customer base, but with DoorCo’s ‘One’ supply offering, you don’t really need to choose. Many of our customers offer all three of our core products because they have the support of DoorCo to deliver.
