A colour transformation

By Jo Trotman, marketing manager, The Residence Collection

Home trends are continuously evolving, right down to the colour of windows and doors. Once a market that was primarily made up of timber frames, consumers are increasingly seeking out timber-alternative systems with a splash of colour for their homes.

One minute, you might find yourself with a customer requesting deep dark colours, and the next might want light and airy pastels – two completely contrasting options. While personal tastes are different, colour trends mustn’t be forgotten.

Constantly moving with the times, colour trends might mean that for a period of time, one colour palette is more in demand than another. As a leading system house, we continue to respond to consumer demand in our product development process, which makes it much easier for a fabricator or installer to advise their customer based on their vision for their home. So, as the homeowner becomes more inventive with their stylistic choices, so do we.

The Residence Collection solution

Boasting 26 colours across our three window and door systems, R2, R7, and R9, we have recently launched 10 new foils, offering a range of grained and smooth finishes. Including Pepper Oak, Sage, and Ginger Oak, the new colours have been crafted with 2022 colour trend predictions in mind.

Inspired by colour trends identified by Pantone and Farrow & Ball, which combine simple but effective neutrals with natural pastel accents of the outdoors, whites, greens, and blues make the cut. Hence, 2022 is the year of neutral muted pastel tones – think fresh ou

As part of our Colour Collection, the new colours have been added to an array of already popular colours including Clotted Cream, Painswick, and Eclectic Grey. Grouped into six distinct categories: Coastal, Cotswold, Dramatic, Element, Forest, and Industrial, the themes have been created with home aesthetics in mind. Whereas the Cotswold Collection represents the idyllic lifestyle of the countryside, the Industrial Collection brings the deep metallics of urban life to the home.

The Coastal Collection is a prime example of the 2022 colour trend predictions, which combines the natural beauty of the seaside with fresh, pastel tones. Grained White, Pepper Oak, Clay, and Sage make up the Coastal Collection and have the capability to transport the home to the seaside. Using time-honoured traditional aesthetics with innovative contemporary design, our Colour Palette caters to the trends of the UK population alongside individual stylistic differences.

The launch of our 10 new colours follows an in-depth analysis of market trends and homeowner preferences. Fabricators and installers are increasingly being challenged to offer their customers something a little different to the conventional colour palette, and these colours will give homeowners much more choice to achieve their desired look.

Our windows have proven themselves as a great option for a range of period homes and heritage properties, which is exactly why our new colours are in keeping with those traditional aesthetics whilst also offering a contemporary design. We’re looking forward to seeing our new colour range featured in homes and buildings across the country.

Our window and door systems have been expertly developed to replicate the period features that make the UKs beloved heritage homes so unique and charming. Think flush timber frames and windows with Georgian bars. But the modern touch comes with 21st Century British craftsmanship: double or triple glazing, A++ energy ratings, acoustically superior and virtually maintenance free.

Fabricators and installers are now able to order colour swatches and the new colour palette brochure for the 10 brand new colours launched this year, which range from Sage and Honey Oak, to Bronze and Clay. Designed with evolving colour trends and the homeowner in mind, fabricators can order the new colours on special order only, with matching ancillaries, and installers are encouraged to get in touch with their fabricator for more information.
