Fabricator closes its doors
Glass Times editor Nathan Bushell reports on the closure of the former Premier Trade Frames site.
The UK Window Group has ceased production at its Caerphilly fabrication plant (previously Premier Trade Frames) as part of a longer-term and planned strategic restructuring initiative, the company has announced.
“We have roles available at our Treorchy plant and we will be engaging with the affected employees on potential reassignment to that site,” a spokesperson told Glass Times. “We have also been in close consultation with community, the trade union, to find the best possible outcome for all affected employees.”
The company added that since the company is currently in a consultation phase numbers may change. However, it has previously and successfully reassigned employees in the past.
The company employs 200 people at its Caerphilly factory, which also serves as the firm’s headquarters.
