Haffner has been chosen by Joedan Windows & Doors as its machinery partner for a major new manufacturing facility on the Isle of Wight.
The investment is said to mark a significant milestone for Joedan as the window and door manufacturer brings PVC-U fabrication in-house as part of ambitious growth plans.
The new manufacturing facility is located on Joedan’s 3.5-acre site on the Isle of Wight. It will become the company’s second manufacturing facility and forms part of a wider £3m investment programme designed to support Joedan’s plans to double annual revenues to £35m by 2030.
Phase one has seen Haffner supply a comprehensive package of PVC-U fabrication machinery, including a TT405 double mitre saw, TV193 automatic V-notch saw, KB516 single head reverse butt and cill welder, SMR4 four head welder, CA117 transom cleaner, CN770/20 CNC corner cleaner, TC294/20 automatic bead saw and MS300 digital measuring system.
The Haffner team is said to have worked closely with Joedan throughout the project, advising on both the machinery specification and complete factory layout. This included planning the positioning of the machinery and optimum product flow through the dedicated manufacturing space to support an efficient operation from the outset.

Planning permission has already been granted for a further extension to the site, which will provide the additional manufacturing space required for phase two and allow production capacity to increase as the business continues to grow.
The expansion is expected to deliver significant economic benefits for the Isle of Wight, with Joedan’s plans expected to grow its Island workforce to around 150 employees, including apprenticeship opportunities.

With over 40 years’ experience, Joedan is reported to be one of the country’s longest-running independent window and door manufacturers.
Its 32,000ft2 Tewkesbury manufacturing facility produces the company’s Lusso aluminium window and door range, while Joedan already has a strong retail and design centre presence on the Isle of Wight. The new facility will further strengthen its manufacturing capabilities to support its growing customer base.
