Eurocell is celebrating 20 years of partnership with Ford Windows as the fabricator also marks a half a century of growth.

The milestone reflects a longstanding partnership with Eurocell that has supported Ford Windows’ transformation from a local glazing business into a Β£20 million turnover operation employing 160 people across three UK sites.

Founded in 1976 as Ford Glass & Glazing by Charlie Ford, the business began as a small single-glazing operation focused on timber frames. In its early years, the company produced around 300 windows per week, building a reputation for reliability and service in its local market. The business was formally incorporated as Ford Windows on 12 September 1994.

A pivotal shift came in 1996 when Ford made the strategic decision to move into PVC-U window manufacturing. With support from Tony Morrison, now key account manager at Eurocell, the company began supplying PVC-U systems.

Shortly afterwards, Ford took the decision to cease manufacturing its own glass and instead focus fully on PVC-U fabrication. The move proved transformational, enabling the business to scale and specialise in the new build sector. By the early 2000s, Ford Windows had firmly partnered with Eurocell, establishing a relationship built on trust, collaboration and long-term strategic alignment.

Tony Morrison has remained closely involved throughout the partnership, supported by Eurocell’s senior leadership team and key figures. Together, the businesses have worked on major housebuilder projects, introduced product innovations and navigated challenging market conditions, including disruption caused by Covid.

Philip Shackley, managing director at Ford Windows, said:

β€œFor us, it’s always been about more than price – we buy from people we trust. Eurocell has been with us every step of the way, in good times and difficult ones. That loyalty matters.”

Today, Ford Windows is said to be one of the largest fabricators in the new build sector by volume, supplying many of the UK’s top 10 housebuilders. The company is the sole supplier to Barratt Developments in three regions and a key supplier to Taylor Wimpey Midlands, as well as the preferred fabricator for flush sash and premium new build specifications.

Gary Driscoll, managing director at Eurocell, said:

β€œFord Windows is a fantastic example of what long-term commitment, strong leadership and a focus on service can achieve. Over the years they have grown into one of the UK’s most respected fabricators in the new build sector, and we are proud to have supported them on that journey.

β€œTheir 50-year milestone is a real achievement, and we look forward to continuing to work closely with them as they continue to develop in the years ahead.”

Ford Windows continues to evolve its strategy, continuing to offer high-volume supply alongside its premium service and differentiated product offerings, while investing in expansion. A new factory forms part of a five-year plan to double turnover, further strengthening its position in the new build market. Now a second-generation family business, with Wesley Shackley, operations director, and Courtney Ford, commercial director, playing active roles.

The partnership is further strengthened through the wider Eurocell Group portfolio, providing Ford Windows with integrated supply chain support across PVC-U, aluminium and complementary products. This includes composite and PVC-U door panels, aluminium window and door systems, cavity closers and closed-loop recycling solutions that align with housebuilder sustainability targets, alongside responsive local branch support that keeps projects moving efficiently.

Having weathered multiple economic cycles and industry shifts, Ford Windows stands as one of the sector’s most consistent performers. To mark its 50th anniversary, the company will host a supplier day in 2026, bringing together key partners and staff to celebrate the milestone.

Philip added:

“Fifty years is a huge achievement. We’ve made brave decisions along the way – and we’re still getting braver. With Eurocell’s continued backing, we’re confident the next chapter will be even stronger.”
