After ten years of dedicated service, SupaLite has bid farewell to one of its most influential operational leaders, Jack Woodruff, who retired in April 2026, following a career that is said to have helped shape the companyβs growth and operational standards.
Jack joined SupaLite in April 2016 as production manager, at a time when the business was still in its early stages. With around 30 employees and production volumes of 30-40 conservatory roofs per week, operations were spread across multiple sites and supported by a modest delivery fleet.
From the outset, he brought structure and discipline to the role, introducing enhanced health and safety procedures and greater operational consistency β laying the foundations for the companyβs future expansion.
Stepping into leadership
Jackβs impact was quickly recognised, and in August 2017 he was promoted to transport manager. In this role, he took responsibility for fleet operations, driver management, compliance, and route planning β areas that would become increasingly critical as the business scaled.
Over the following years, SupaLiteβs production capacity more than tripled, at times reaching 110 roofs per week. This rapid growth placed significant demands on logistics, accuracy, and delivery performance.
As Jack explains:
βThereβs a lot that goes into transport β drivers can only legally work nine hours a dayβ¦ so planning is key.β
Navigating industry challenges
Among the most challenging periods of Jackβs tenure was the COVID-19 pandemic. Operating with reduced staffing, he and a small team maintained essential production and delivery, continuing to supply 10β20 roofs per week.
At the same time, he implemented comprehensive safety measures, including risk assessments, social distancing protocols, and testing procedures, ensuring both continuity and workforce protection.
Following the pandemic, the UK home improvement boom drove a sharp increase in demand. SupaLite responded by scaling operations rapidly, delivering up to 70 roofs per week during peak periods, with Jack playing a central role in managing this transition.
Commitment to compliance and quality
Throughout his time at SupaLite, Jack is said to have maintained a strong focus on compliance and operational standards, consistently passing annual Corgi Fenestration audits.
He also oversaw the expansion and professionalisation of the companyβs fleet, supporting the safe and efficient transportation of both roofing systems and glazing products.
The people behind the brand
While operational achievements are significant, Jack identifies people as the most rewarding aspect of his time at SupaLite.
“Iβve really enjoyed building relationships across the business, getting to know the workforce and working closely with the board of directors.
βCreating a workplace where everyone is aligned and working together has been important, especially when it comes to health and safety, and operational standards.ββ
With a career spanning nearly five decades β including 28 years in the military β Jackβs retirement marks the conclusion of a long and incredibly successful professional journey.
