With consumer expectations rising and design standards becoming ever more exacting, fabricators and installers are constantly looking for products that offer both technical efficiency and aesthetic excellence.
At The Residence Collection, that balance is exactly what we have achieved with our timber alternative entrance door range – a system that combines authentic styling, intelligent engineering and fabricator-friendly production.
Compatible with R9, R7 and R² systems, the entrance doors which launched to the market earlier this year complete The Residence Collection’s ‘full house’ offering, allowing fabricators to deliver a complete timber alternative product portfolio.
The design carries through the brand’s signature flush finish and detailing, creating consistency across windows and doors on any project.
From a manufacturing perspective, the new open-in system has been engineered for simplicity and flexibility. Door sashes can be fabricated up to 900mm wide by 2,300mm high in a variety of configurations. In addition, every element of the new range has been developed with production in mind.
The chamfered sash profile matches the existing open-out systems, enabling easy alignment and a uniform aesthetic across installations. This makes the range ideal for mixed developments where a consistent look is key but varying door functions are required.
The system’s exclusive decorative and patented panel trim, unique to The Residence Collection, not only hides the gasket line for a cleaner finish but also replicates a moulded timber appearance. It’s a small but impactful detail that helps fabricators deliver a truly premium result – and one that differentiates these doors from anything else on the market.
The range of foiled matched door panels are available as flat panels, or raised and fielded, and the new mid-rail, deep bottom rail, panels and trim can also be used with the existing open-out doors and French doors for a consistent look.
Underneath the heritage styling lies a high-performance specification designed to exceed modern standards. The range is fully PAS24 and Secured by Design compliant and has been tested to BS6375 for weather, strength and performance.
Options for 28mm double or 44mm triple glazing ensure outstanding thermal efficiency, while hardware choices – from traditional monkey tail and pear drop handles to the contemporary knurled handle from the Regal range – give fabricators scope to meet every homeowner’s taste.
Accessibility has also been considered, with a low aluminium threshold option as standard across the new open-in door range with a full frame option available with R2, to meet inclusive design requirements.
Supporting this launch is The Residence Collection’s new door configurator, a digital tool designed to make specification faster, clearer and more collaborative. It allows users to visually build a door – selecting frame type, colour, glazing, bead options and hardware – automatically generating a full design ready for pricing or ordering.
For fabricators, it removes ambiguity from the process and ensures every element of a build is captured accurately. For installers, it provides an easy way to communicate the design vision to homeowners. The configurator even includes a ‘find an installer’ feature, helping connect customers directly with approved partners and creating additional sales opportunities.
The timber alternative sector continues to show strong growth, driven by homeowners seeking the warmth and authenticity of timber with the low maintenance and efficiency of modern materials. The Residence Collection’s new entrance doors position fabricators perfectly to meet that demand.
It isn’t just another product – it’s a genuine solution for our partners. It brings exclusive features like the deep bottom rail and decorative panel trim but also makes the manufacturing and specification process quicker and more transparent. It’s been years in development, and we’re proud to now offer a truly fabricator-friendly timber alternative.
