Obituary: Ken Price
Ken Price a well-known figure in the glass industry and co-founder of Tuff X Processed Glass, passed away on 8 May 2022 aged 81.
Ken joined his father’s glass business, James Price Glazing & Son (established 1947) after leaving school at the young age of 15.
He went on to build a successful business working with local authorities, housing departments and the private and commercial sector.
With changes in building regulations, he saw the opportunity in 1997 to invest in a toughened safety glass manufacturing facility and set up Tuff X Processed Glass based in Aintree, Liverpool supplying single toughened glass products and insulated glass units throughout the UK.
Over the years, Ken enjoyed visiting glass exhibitions in UK and Europe and always had an eye for opportunities for new glass products & machinery. Tuff X Processed Glass continues as a market leader to this day.
In later years, Ken took time out to spend time with his wife and family but continued to call in on a regular basis to see staff and crack a few jokes along the way
