New machining centre

SupaLite has invested around £400K in a new machining centre at its headquarters in Preston.

The new bespoke cutting centre will double SupaLite’s production capacity at its factory to more than 200 roofs per week.

Dave Watters, managing director of SupaLite, said: “This major investment will take SupaLite to the next level in our manufacturing growth plan.

“At SupaLite we are committed to providing not only the highest quality tiled roofs but supplying them in a timely manner, and the new machining centre will help us achieve this. This new level of capacity will allow us to hit our orders and provide what our customers want quicker as demand increases for our roofs.”

The centre, which was due to be commissioned in August, means that SupaLite can now offer part fabricated roofs to customers, which is aimed at smaller fabricators that struggle with storage.

The company is also looking at further investment later this year on ply cutting and insulation cutting.
