FGS introduces new team members at FIT Show

Flat Glass Solutions (FGS), the leading supplier of specialist machinery to the UK glass processing industry, has hailed this year’s FIT Show as a major success – using the three-day event at Birmingham’s NEC to connect with existing clients, engage new prospects, and showcase exciting developments within the business.

The show also marked the official introduction of two key team members: Gary Dobson, the company’s new operations manager, and Brent Alderson, newly appointed engineering manager. Both bring a wealth of industry knowledge and technical expertise to FGS, and their appointments reflect the company’s continued growth and commitment to providing industry-leading service and support.

“We’ve had a fantastic few days at the FIT Show,” said Dave Cahill, managing director of FGS. “It’s been great to speak directly with so many customers and industry peers, and also to formally introduce Gary and Brent to the wider sector. Their experience will be invaluable as we continue to scale and develop our offering.”

FGS also collaborated closely with long-standing European partners Viprotron and Dieffe, hosting representatives on their stand throughout the show. These joint efforts helped to deepen the existing partnerships while offering visitors a broader view of the advanced machinery and inspection systems available through FGS.

“It’s been a brilliant opportunity to meet customers face-to-face and see the energy in the industry,” said Gary Dobson. “I’m thrilled to be part of the FGS team and I’m committed to delivering even more value and driving efficiency for the benefit of our customers.”

Brent Alderson added: “I’m excited to have joined Flat Glass Solutions at such a pivotal time in the business and I’m already working hard to provide even faster, more efficient engineering support. The response at the show has been incredibly positive.”

Sandra Kugler, sales and marketing director at Viprotron, commented: “I was highly impressed by the insightful questions and interest in the defect detection, which was on show, especially the Temper Scanner 5D. The energy and enthusiasm were amazing, and we had many in depth conversations about glass defect detection equipment.”

Stefano Bonato, sales manager at Dieffe, agreed: “It was great to demonstrate our entry level centrifuge at FIT – especially as FGS sold it on the second day! We’re excited to continue developing new opportunities together following the success of this show.”
