BFRC gains triple UKAS accreditation

Over recent months, the British Fenestration Ratings Council (BFRC) has reported significant growth in the scope of services both onsite and at its lab in Telford and says it is supporting an increasing number of businesses with testing and certification.
Building on this, the BFRC team is now a UKAS accredited Product Certification provider for BS EN 14351-1 System 1 emergency exit Panic Bar, BS EN 1279 Insulated Glass Units and BS EN 12150 Toughened Glass.
Richard Bate, technical director, commented: “This announcement is a positive step for BFRC and one that will offer IGU manufacturers, glass processors, fabricators and installers more choice when it comes to accrediting their systems and meeting legislation.
“We can now open up what we do to more businesses who want to work with a collaborative and professional partner who delivers reliable and professional service, backed up with comprehensive reporting, delivered in a timely manner.
“There is often confusion about what is actually required when it comes to audits or legal requirements for accreditation, something we’re determined to head off with a drive for more integrity,” he continued. “For example, we can potentially cut down the number of audit days and do everything in one.
“This latest offering means we can help businesses achieve and maintain standards efficiently in a harsh market with changing legislation and constant challenges – all delivered by our professional, knowledgeable and friendly team.”
