Your chance to blast off
With sales of decorative sandblasted glass continuing to increase alongside generous government tax incentives for capital purchases, Tony Mallick, RegaLead’s glass processing market manager says that the time is right to invest in sandblasting.
There’s been an impressive increase in the popularity of sandblasted glass designs in both domestic and commercial projects, which has created an incredibly strong market for the glass processing and IGU manufacturing sectors.
We’ve witnessed this trend first-hand through our own decorative glass business, Decorative Door Products, where the domestic applications of sandblasted glass are being driven by the composite door market trend for more personalised front door styles.
Sandblasted glass offers decorative detailing for entrance doors, as well as practical privacy and, at our Centre of Glass Excellence in Hawick, the sandblasting machine is working full-time on everything from intricate sandblast detailing and spectacular motifs, to designs as simple as letters and numbers.
The trend doesn’t stop at the front door though and there are big opportunities for glass processing companies as sandblasted glass is being used throughout homes, on everything from shower screens to internal glazed doors and decorative, back-lit mirror features. Outdoors, sandblasted glass balustrades offer a modern-look safety feature to balconies and in front of wide-span glazed doors installed on upper floors, and are also being used to section off decking and patio areas in modern landscaped gardens.
On the commercial side, sandblasted glass partitions offer privacy, while allowing plenty of natural light through, and can be designed with company logos and branding. They offer easy, low-maintenance cleaning, making them ideal for modern office and retail spaces as well as leisure and medical facilities.
Bringing sandblasting in-house couldn’t be easier for IGU manufacturers and glass processors, thanks to CadBlast, RegaLead’s complete turnkey solution. Our relationship with specialised machinery manufacturer Dynamiki goes back almost 10 years, and we have worked with them on lots of successful installations across the UK and in international markets where there are strong markets for sandblasted glass.
We offer two standard sized, semi-automated machines from Dynamiki – the CB120A and the CB180RL – which offer sandblasting height of 1,200mm and 1,800mm respectively, although both are able to accommodate larger glass sizes, thanks to the open top design of the machines.
Alongside the machines, our turnkey solution includes the CadBlast 4800 Plotter and Vinyl Cutter, easy-to-use design software for creating your own bespoke designs, access to design libraries with more than 2,000 pre-existing patterns, and all of the consumables needed to meet this market trend, available on fast dispatch from our HQ.
As with all RegaLead machinery equipment, our expert team offers full support on installation, complete training for your operatives and assistance with marketing your finished sandblasted glass products.
And if that wasn’t enough, the government is funding an extra discount on your machinery too. As part of the super deduction tax scheme, companies can claim 130% capital allowances on new machinery investments made between April 1, 2021 and March 31, 2023. In effect, this would mean a 24.7% tax deduction rate on your new sandblasting machinery, instead of the usual 19%.
With a strong market waiting for you, government incentives and a complete turnkey solution available from RegaLead, there has never been a better time to bring sand-blasting in-house. The CadBlast complete turnkey solution gives you absolutely everything you need to get started, in one easy package, with complete back up and support from the glass processing market experts.
