Achieving brand synergy

Getting a PVCU window fabrication company off the ground requires perfect choreography of suppliers and the patience to play the waiting game for everything to fall into place. What if there were companies who worked together in unison to deliver exactly what you need, with unparalleled service and round the clock support? Liniar explains how it is entirely possible to be fabricating from scratch in just a few weeks.

A site in Livingston, Scotland was re-occupied by the former owners of trade counter and fabricator Stevenswood in order to begin a brand new window fabrication business. After selling Stevenswood more than two years ago, Ron Hepburn and Duncan Murray were back with a new venture: The Window Supply Company.

While Ron and Duncan had heard of Liniar profile, and were interested in setting up their new venture using Liniar, initially this wasn’t their primary focus. It was the beginning of December 2018, and they knew they needed an entire factory full of window fabrication machinery. They knew that Avantek Machinery had a reputation for having machinery in stock and ready to deliver, so they got in touch with Avantek director Nigel Bishop to find out if he could help.

Nigel and his team arrived in Livingston to view the site, go through the plan for machinery placement and offer advice on how to make the team’s production process as efficient as possible. The Window Supply Company’s list of required machinery included over a dozen machines and, with the exception of two, everything was in stock and delivered by the end of February.

Once organised, attention turned to the profile. Nigel and Liniar sales director Howard Hirst demonstrated the synergies made possible by working together on behalf of the fabricator.

Liniar and Avantek Machinery are able to blend into one well-oiled machine to get brand new fabricators up and running, and this is what solidified Ron and Duncan’s choice to go with Liniar as their systems house.

The benefit of working with both Liniar and Avantek was the sister companies’ ability to coordinate the timing of deliveries, staff training and the ability to have one point of contact for support. It’s the ideal situation for a fabricator just setting up, and proved to reap dividends for this new venture.

The target deadline for the Window Supply Company to begin fabricating was set at mid-March. In 11 weeks, the factory was outfitted with window fabrication technology, and all the staff were trained on how to operate it safely while delivering consistent results.

Duncan Murray, The Window Company’s managing director, said: “Our first week of production was an absolute success. We smashed not only our sales target but also our production target. All the visitors who’ve come by the factory say that Liniar is the best window they’ve ever seen. They all loved the product and its quality.

“The Avantek team have been proactive from start to finish. We set a start date that we didn’t believe any other machinery company would have been able to achieve, but Avantek and Liniar crushed it together. We know that they will be there to support us as we grow and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them.”

The Window Supply Company will be the first mass producer of Liniar’s Reversible window.
