Whopping charity pot

Wellingborough Golf Couse played host yet again this year to the 12th Glazerite Trophy in July.

With temperatures reaching the high 20s over the event the 37 teams taking part did very well in the extreme heat. Glazerite customers travelled from across the British Isles to attend, including Doug Skinner (Kennaugh and Skinner) who made his way from the Isle of Man.

The winning team was formed by Dartford-based Leslie Easton and Annis Building Contractors from Wellingborough who with professional Ben Hall, won the main Pro-Am event. Kyson Lloyd was the tournament winner, posting an eight-under-par score of 136 for the two rounds.

The event carried on into the night with entertainment, food and drinks for the golfers and their guests and Glazerite employees. Through voluntary donations from team members a raffle throughout the day and auction in the evening the whole event generated £4,235 for Glazerite’s nominated charity Cancer Research UK.

Glazerite chairman said: “The quality of golf gets better each year and is reflected in some excellent scores. Among a great day for us all, the generosity of many was outstanding. Over £4,000 donated to Cancer Research UK is a fantastic amount and a cause that is close to many of our hearts.”
