Running away to the circus

This year, the Crowne Plaza in Stratford-on-Avon played host to the madness that was Circus Beserkus, the post-Gala Dinner party put on by the team at GM Fundraising.

From clowns to mime artists, strongmen to bearded and tattooed ladies – the weird and wonderful world of the circus was well represented.

“This year’s Gala Dinner was the 20th one we’ve delivered and they just seem go from strength to strength,” Gary Morton, founder of GM Fundraising, said. “Everybody really throws themselves into the theme with some really fantastic outfits and a great time is had by all who attend. Of course, it’s not just about us all having a great time – we’re there to raise much needed funds for Hope House Children’s Hospice, and yet again, this wonderful industry of ours, didn’t fail to disappoint.

“The total amount raised on the night was £66,814.76 – the most we’ve ever raised at a Gala Dinner. As always, our thanks go to everyone who supported us with the raffle and auction prizes, as well as everyone who attended and played a part in the evening. We really couldn’t achieve what we do without the ongoing, unwavering support we receive from this fantastic industry we all work in.

“Every penny we raise goes directly to Hope House, who provide vital care and support to children with life limiting illnesses and their families. At GM Fundraising, we will continue to do everything we can in order to support the great work they do. After hitting the £1 million milestone of total funds raised in 2014, we’ve now set ourselves a target to go on and hit the £2 million marker by 2020, and thanks to Circus Beserkus we’re off to a great start.”

The next event held by GM Fundraising is the GMF Golf Day at Telford Hotel Golf and Spa Resort taking place on July 5.
