Raising the bar
Eleven members of staff from Bennett Architectural took part in a charity 7-a-side football tournament supporting the Alzheimers Society, raising £130.
The 7-a-side tournament, organised by the Stoke on Trent branch of CCF, had 12 teams take part at the home of Nantwich Town FC – the Weaver Stadium.
Despite giving a good account of themselves, the Bennetts team didn’t make it out of the group stage, registering a credible 0-0 draw in the first match before four straight defeats in scorching conditions.
The tournament was eventually won by Shadwell, which overcame Travis Perkins Stoke 3-0; going the entire tournament without conceding a goal.
