A career choice

Glass Times editor Nathan Bushell explains why he loves fenestration.

We recently published a story from Building Our Skills about its #lovefenestration campaign.

The organisation has dedicated the whole of February to promoting careers in the fenestration industry to young adults, or those looking for a career change.

The effort is being co-ordinated by Stephanie Tague, who has twisted my arm firmly (yet remotely) behind my back until I agreed to participate. Of course, she knew that Glass Times is fully behind any effort that shows the industry off in a good light, and I would do everything I can to support her efforts.

You can see the result here.

Stephanie specifically asked for a personal take on the industry. After all, while I report on companies up and down the supply chain, Glass Times is also part of that same interconnected machine, and I, at the end of the day, have a job in the fenestration industry.

“Building Our Skills doesn’t have all the answers to the skills crisis facing our industry,” Stephanie said. “We want to create a platform where everyone can get involved and share ideas.”

If you can like and share to all your social media platforms of choice, tagging #lovefestration possible, we can all do our bit to promote this industry to a wider audience and welcome in new exciting talent. Also, keep an eye open for other similar videos from across the socialmediaverse.
