Apeer makes £160k investment

Apeer has announced a £160k investment to boost production of both its popular Silka doors and its sister brand Lumi’s range of aluminium window products.

Focusing on investing in machinery at its Ballymena-based factory in Northern Ireland, Apeer is responding to a growing demand for its Silka composite doors and Lumi Aluminium windows. A new Emmegi machining centre has been installed at the fabricator’s recently expanded factory, as well as a new mechanical saw.

Managing director, Asa McGillian, said: “Quite simply, we need to make this investment in machinery to keep up with the enduring popularity of our Silka doors, along with the consistent and growing demand we’ve seen for our Lumi Aluminium range since its launch last year.

“Future proofing our business by investing in the factory processes and machinery is the best way we can ensure that Apeer and Lumi are able to meet future demand for these products.

“But this investment is not just about meeting demand while ensuring our high standards of quality and craftsmanship are maintained,” explained Asa.

“It’s also about preparing for the upcoming developments we have planned for our Silka range… which we hope to be able to divulge soon, so watch this space!”
