New levels of precision

Tradeglaze has taken delivery of a new glass cutting table from Atlantic Machinery, brings new levels of precision to the production line at the company’s subsidiary Allenby Glass.

With both the construction and the home improvement markets experiencing the strongest demand on record, Tradeglaze has been making investments in talent, machinery, software as well as vehicles, land and office space in the recent months.

Jeremy Wetherall, managing director at Tradeglaze, said: “The new Atlantic XY and Shape glass cutter takes us another step further in many ways, from increased safety of our employees to improved productivity, reduced wastage of material and decreased handling time. All this also means new levels of consistency; it means that we can guarantee precision every time which in turn will help us speed up the glass cutting process and further reduce lead times for our customers.

“With the purchase of the new cutter we have also upgraded our glass cutting software system to a fully integrated stock control package, helping us automate many of our processes. The industry’s boom in demand has come with several challenges as shortages of materials combined with unprecedented price increases are causing considerable disruption to all fabricators.
“With the significant investments we have made in our talent, premises and machinery over the recent month, we are in a fortunate, strong position. This is a very busy but tremendously exciting time for us.”
