New £26 million factory

Aluplast remains on target to start production at its latest factory by Q2 2022.

The facility, which is currently being constructed on a 15-hectare site at Nagradowice, Poland, at a cost of around £26 million, will include a production hall, a raw material mixing plant, as well as technical and R&D facilities.

Servicing the UK and Europe, the new facility, which will have the potential to house up to 50 twin extrusion lines, will double Aluplast’s manufacturing capacity.

The first stage of the new factory, which includes a 183,000ft2 warehouse, was completed at the end of 2019 and has been in use for over a year.

“The scale of our existing manufacturing capability, which includes a huge amount of investment in foiling, has meant that we have been very well placed to weather the storm of the last 18 months,” Ian Cocken, Aluplast’s director of sales and marketing, said.

“We have been able to maintain a strong level of supply, despite raw material shortages, and compared to some of our competitors, we have done so while keeping our surcharges to an absolute minimum.”

Aluplast’s existing production facility can already process over 90,000m of foiled profile every day.

“We have enjoyed strong growth over the last 24 months, and we have significantly expanded our market share into the UK,” Ian said. “That’s due to the strength of our resources, our leading colour offer, and the quality of our product.”
