Businesses urged to build

With the UK moving towards economic recovery, and households estimated to be sitting on £150 billion of savings and ready to spend, there has never been a better time for businesses in the industry to build, according to Purplex.

“While the challenges of the last 12 months may have taken their toll both financially and emotionally, and energy levels will likely be running low, it’s time for weary companies to look forward and build again,” Andrew Scott, managing director of Purplex, said.

Purplex recently launched its ‘Stronger, Faster, Better’ campaign to help businesses capitalise on this “golden opportunity”.

“Pent up consumer demand, a surplus of cash, low interest rates and homeowners spending more time at home than ever before is likely to mean a £multi-billion spending spree,” Andrew said. “And it’s those companies that come back stronger, faster, and better who will benefit the most.”

Marketing will be more important than ever before, Andrew said. For some companies it will be a case of re-building after a difficult 12 months, while for those who may have had a successful year despite the pandemic.

“Despite some companies struggling to survive, many have not seen a downturn in growth, and we have generated record results for many of our clients thanks to the drive for home renovations,” Andrew said.

“But that doesn’t mean that 2021 will not be without its challenges. With more people set to be working from home, and the government’s plans to “build, build, build” our way to economic recovery, there will be plenty of opportunities out there and the competition will be fierce.”
