Record output

Homeline, GAP’s brand of rooflines, cladding and trims, is operating at record capacity to ensure its depots are carrying more stock than ever before.

At a time of shortages across the industry, Homeline has been working tirelessly to ensure it has the products its customers need, when they need them the most.

Companies have been affected by shortages or long lead times created by both record demand and shortages of raw materials. These factors have caused manufacturers across the industry to make difficult decisions about who to supply, and in what quantity.

One of the biggest advantage Homeline has is that its sole customer is the GAP depot network, thanks to a vertically integrated business model. As soon as the fascia boards, trims or cladding roll off the extrusion lines, they are sent straight to GAP’s distribution warehouse before they make their onward journey to the GAP depots. From here, the depots provide a collection or delivery service to their customers.

Over recent months, capital investment has been ploughed into Homeline to increase capacity and to eliminate bottlenecks in production. Its latest investment alone saw the purchase of a new £250,000 foiling line that was commissioned in record time, to increase its output of popular BBA and BSI approved roofline colours such as anthracite grey and agate grey.

Simon Bird, GAP’s joint founder, said: “There is no doubt that the market for cellular building products, such as roofline, cladding and trims, is currently challenging, but we are delighted at how Homeline is performing to ensure we can provide the best possible service to our depots.

“Of course, there will be lines where we ourselves have small pockets of shortages, but we are confident that the vast majority of the lines we manufacture and stock are ready on our racks for our customers to take away and get the job done.

“With Homeline being GAP’s sole supplier, we do not have the difficult dilemma other manufacturers do about who to supply, and who not to. We’ll continue to work hard with our team at Homeline to ensure the momentum and service levels continue for the remainder of 2020 and into 2021.”

Homeline will continue to push forward next year, with a new marketing package set to launch which features stunning new images to help installers demonstrate how a homeowner can completely transform their home using our low maintenance building products.
