New solar control glass

AGC has launched Stopray Vision‑70, its new solar control glass.

With a selectivity of 2.0, AGC’s new Stopray Vision‑70 solar control glass, and its toughenable version Stopray Vision‑70T, outperform all conventional double silver products, the company said.

These products are very colour neutral (Ra,D = 97), let in maximum daylight (TL = 70%) and, with a solar factor of just 35%, reduce the air conditioning requirements of buildings with all-glass facades.

They deliver 15% internal light reflection, 14% external light reflection and a low Ug value of 1.0W (m2K) that keeps rooms warmer on cold days, saves on heating costs, and is good for the environment.

These values are for double glazing, but the products are also available in triple glazed insulating glass units. All standard glass products in the ipasol and Stopray family are Cradle to Cradle Certified Silver.

The Cradle to Cradle certification system evaluates a products sustainability across its entire life cycle. To achieve certification, a product must meet strict standards in five categories linked to health and the environment: material health, material reutilisation, renewable energy, water stewardship and social fairness.

The AGC Group said it is the only glassmaker to have earned Cradle to Cradle Certified status for its portfolio of glass products.
