Climbing high for charity

Family-owned Target Conservatories and Windows has raised over £2,000 for local charity, Douglas Macmillan Hospice, with an unusual fundraiser.

On Friday August 28, members of staff from Target Windows’ showrooms in Stone and Uttoxeter, and its head office in Meir Heath, participated in a Moonlight Walk that saw them climb Mount Snowdon at night.

Office manager Nicola Green said: “It was a difficult climb but the overwhelming support we have received has made it all worthwhile.”

The Staffordshire-based company has raised £2,100 in total, thanks to a number of contributions from customers, local businesses, family, and friends.

Head of fundraising and lottery at Douglas Macmillan Hospice Donna Adams said: “We can’t thank the team at Target Windows enough for taking on their Snowdon Moonlight Walk for Dougie Mac. The team have raised funds consistently over the past few years and their most recent challenge climbing Snowdon brings their total fundraising to over £7,500.

“All monies raised will help the hospice to deliver specialist end of life care to local people when they need it most.”
