Gowercroft Joinery has received a 2017 Build It award for its new range of heritage windows designed for listed properties and the conservation market.

Gowercroft saw off competition from other joinery companies, as well as PVCU and aluminium manufacturers, to win the ‘Best Windows’ category.

The new Winston heritage sliding sash and Richmond heritage flush casement windows replicate the classic appearance of single-glazed windows of the past, while offering modern performance.

Combining Accoya timber, Pilkington Spacia ultra-thin vacuum glazing, and micro-porous paint coatings, the windows offer a slim-lined aesthetic with no double reflection, plus modern levels of heat and noise insulation, maintenance, durability, sustainability, and low life-cycle costs.

The judges said: “When specifying windows, self-builders and renovators are looking for products that deliver on both aesthetics, design and performance – a prospect only made more difficult when dealing with listed properties. The Richmond and Winston designs offer an outstanding solution, providing excellent U-values and ultra-thin profiles.”

The Winston and Richmond Heritage windows have already been specified in a number of Grade II listed properties including Winston Churchill’s former home.
