New solid core collection

This summer, Door-stop launched a new premium front door collection. Patrick Dean, head of sales and marketing, discusses the new range.

Over the past couple of years we have seen the demand for composite doors rise significantly and, as such, we recognised that there was a gap in the market: homeowners were searching for more premium options that would take their home to a whole new level of excellence.

With this in mind we decided to bridge the gap by designing and developing a new premium solid core collection.

Our new collection is manufactured to provide exceptional strength and performance, with the high-end aesthetics homeowners’ desire.

The doors from the solid core collection have a thick Nordic pine centre, which is encased in a durable glass reinforced plastic (GRP) skin to ensure that they will withstand all weather conditions, without warping, swelling, twisting or cracking.

With the GRP skin, a solid core door has a life span of approximately 35 years – longer than any other door available on the market, such as PVCU and timber.

The solid wooden core is LVL cross-bonded, which means that one fifth of the veneers are glued crosswise. This structure improves the lateral bending strength and stiffness of the panel. And with cross-bonded veneers, there is also a substantial reduction in moisture-dependent variations across the width of the panel.

There are also extra security options that are available for the collection. From cylinders that are anti-bump, tamper and force resistant, to locks that have a reliably strong structural frame, a solid core door can provide peace of mind to a homeowner that they are safe from burglars.

Our police approved Secured By Design option is also available for this collection, which is recognised by many insurance companies.

We have worked hard to develop durable and individual door styles and a premium colour palette to elevate the door to a real property feature. We have shades from traditional white and black to the more modern colours like chartwell green and the ever popular grey.

Homeowners will also be able to choose from a variety of customisable glass options and hardware.
When it comes to helping a customer choose a front door, quality should never be compromised and a reputable door manufacturer should always be contacted in order to ensure that a high quality door is specified for a property.
