Strategic onward sale

Profine Group has sold the finished window and door manufacturing facilities of Aperture Trading to Solar Norvik and Solar Calibre Doors for an undisclosed sum.

Solar Norvik and Solar Calibre are newly formed companies by the same owner/management team behind Solar Windows and Interframe (SW) businesses.

The manufacturing facilities that were bought as part of the deal were considered non-core to the Profine Group.

A partnership deal now exists between Profine and the new Solar businesses, and Solar Norvik and Solar Calibre Doors will continue to operate at the Huthwaite site.

Gareth Jones, managing director of Profine UK, said: “It made commercial sense to buy all of the remaining assets from KPMG, the administrators of Aperture Trading, but given our group mantra of excelling in our core competences, we’ve found a reputable partner for the manufacturing facilities. I have known Carl Lewis for nearly 20 years, and I do believe that we have the perfect partner in place to take these businesses and brands forward.”

Carl Lewis, managing director of Solar Norvik and Solar Calibre Doors, said: “Both the Norvik and Calibre Doors assets will fit perfectly into our current business model and we’re genuinely thrilled with the deal and partnership programme that we have in place with Profine.”
