Board appointment

Andrew Madge, managing director of Gowercroft Joinery, has been appointed to the board of the Confederation of Timber Industries (CTI).

The CTI represents producers, manufacturers and distributors across the entire timber supply chainand speaks for the timber industry as a whole in matters relating to jobs and skills, quality control, economic growth and environmental protection.

Andrew will be acting on behalf of the British Woodworking Federation (BWF), where he also sits on the executive board, to ensure that that its 700-strong membership is well supported and represented in key areas.

Andrew Madge said: “I am delighted to be invited to join the CTI board. As we move towards a low carbon economy, I believe that the CTI and the BWF together will play a vitally important role in ensuring that the use of timber and timber products remains at the top of the agenda and the natural choice for specifiers, designers and constructors.”
