Memorable Pigs night out

More than 60 people braved the rain and hail to attend the latest Pigs event in Glasgow – more than twice the number who attended the first Glaswegian event in 2017.

Pigs organiser Sarah Ball from Balls2 Marketing said: “Our new venue, the Penthouse at Saint Judes was great, and the bar staff looked after us brilliantly.

“The drinks flowed and at around 10pm the evening took an unexpected turn with Kirk Maxwell from Scotplas organising Karaoke in the bar.

“It went down a storm and we were still singing as the bar closed at midnight, a full hour after the official closing time for Pigs. It was an absolute blast.”

Sunil Patel, from Unique Window systems, travelled from Leicester with two colleagues to support the event. “It is the best yet,” he told Sarah and pledged continued support for the industry network.

The generous sponsorship in Glasgow meant all the food and drinks were covered for the entire evening. This is thanks to: Avantis International, Build Show, DGCOS, Double Glazing Blogger, DW3, Edgetech, Emplas, ERA Security, Extrudaseal, Georgian Bar Company, Glass and Glazing Federation, Glass and Glazing Products, Glazpart, Improveasy, Independent Network, Kawneer, Korniche, Norscot, Regalead, Saveheat Group, Scotplas Trade Centres, Supalite, Selecta Systems, Senior Architectural Systems, Stuga, Synseal, Thermoseal, Titon, Total Hardware, Ultraframe, Unique Window Systems, Veka, Vision Magazine, Whizzle, Window Ware, Yale, and Uni_Slide.

Saveheat’s Colin Torley said: “It was a great night at the second Pigs event in Glasgow. It was well attended and great to meet some old acquaintances and some great new contacts. Well worth going to and a big thank you to all involved.”

Sarah said: “To build on the success of the Glasgow event, we have asked all the Glasgow Pigs to bring a friend next year, a colleague, customer or supplier.

“If the second annual event is anything to go by, this is going to be a permanent fixture in the Pigs calendar for many years to come.”
